South Korea to Amend Cosmetics Precautions and Allergen Labeling Regulations

On April 9, 2026, South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued an administrative notice proposing amendments to the Regulation of Labelling Cosmetics Precautions for Use and Fragrance Allergens, refining warning requirements for dry shampoos, Benzophenone-3 sunscreens, and AHA-containing cosmetics.
On April 9, 2026, South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced an administrative notice proposing amendments to the Regulation of Labelling Cosmetics Precautions for Use and Fragrance Allergens. These revisions aim to rationalize cautionary statements on cosmetic packaging based on product characteristics, thereby helping consumers use cosmetics more safely. Stakeholders are invited to submit their feedback by June 8, 2026.
