On December 13, 2023, Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) introduced draft amendments to the List of Prohibited Ingredients in Cosmetics.1 These amendments were finalized on March 21, 2024, and the majority of them are set to take effect on January 1, 2025.2
Compared to the current list, the amended version newly includes nine ingredients. These ingredients have already been banned for use in cosmetic products in ASEAN and EU.
