6 Cosmetic Testing National Standards to be Revised

The Standardization Administration of China announced it will revise the first batch of national standards for the testing of cosmetics in 2014, specifically defining the testing methods of 48 substances in cosmetics including of 11 penicillin antibiotics, 15 fluoroquinolone antibiotics, 5 heavy metals, 7 sex hormones, astragaloside, paeoniflorin, phillyrin and forsythoside etc. 

The Standardization Administration of China announced it will revise the first batch of national standards for the testing of cosmetics in 2014, specifically defining the testing methods of 48 substances in cosmetics including of 11 penicillin antibiotics, 15 fluoroquinolone antibiotics, 5 heavy metals, 7 sex hormones, astragaloside, paeoniflorin, phillyrin and forsythoside etc. All those substances are determined primarily using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography-tandem Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).
