China Cosmetic Safety and Technical Standards Includes a New Determination Method of 22 Sunscreens in Cosmetics

As revealed by No.2019-40 Notice of China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on July 11 [1], a new sunscreens testing method has been newly included into the chapter 4 “Physical and Chemical Testing Methods for Cosmetics” of Cosmetics Safety and Technical Standards, bringing the total number of sunscreens testing methods to 8.

The Method-Determination of 3-benzylidene camphor and other 21 kinds of sunscreens in cosmetics-uses HPLC to determine the content of 3-benzylidene camphor and other 21 kinds of sunscreens in cosmetics such as liquid water-based cosmetics, cream, lotion and nail polish.
