China NIFDC Seeks Public Feedback on Two Draft Guidelines for New Cosmetic Ingredient Naming

On December 11, 2025, the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC) released two draft guidelines for public consultation. These guidelines aim to standardize the naming of new cosmetic ingredients and promote innovation in the cosmetics industry. Stakeholders are invited to submit their feedback by December 26, 2025. Tracking South Korea’s Cosmetic Safety Assessment Regulations
South Korea has established a cosmetic safety assessment system through the partial amendment to the Cosmetics Act (Act No. 21302, promulgated on December 30, 2025). Under the new system, cosmetic responsible sellers are required to prepare and retain product safety assessment documentation reviewed by a safety assessor before products are placed on the market or distributed.
