SFDA Consults on Format and Specifications of Cosmetics Hygiene License
In order to implement the Regulations concerning the Hygiene Supervision over Cosmetics, China State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) published on 14 November the draft proposal on the format, specifications and application guidance for Cosmetics Manufacturing Hygiene License. Public commentary shall be returned to SFDA by 27 November 2011.
The full license documentation contains one original copy, one duplicate cover, one duplicate copy, one instruction sheet (duplicate), one modification record sheet (duplicate) and one modification record for sub-contract production (duplicate).
Original Copy Size - 420 mm x 297 mm
Duplicate Copy Size - 184 mm x 264 mm
The original copy has an anti-counterfeiting mark, “SFDA”, in 52.00 mm x 23.00 mm.
Permit Scope
Cosmetic manufacturers should select from four primary categories, namely hair product/skin care products/beauty products/perfumes, to fill in the license category on the original copy, depending on their practical situation. Specific product categories shall be filled up in the production category on the duplicate copy. For example, if you apply for the hair product license, you may need to put in a hair washing type.
Validation
Start Date: the date when a new license or a renewed license is issued; or the date when the original license was issued in the cases of modification record and re-issuing.
Expiration Date: the date in 4 years but one day when a new/renewed license is issued or the original licensed was issued in the cases of modification record and re-issuing.
