Illinois to Ban PFAS in Cosmetics by 2032

On August 15, 2025, the Governor of Illinois signed House Bill 2516, amending the state’s PFAS Reduction Act to ban the sale and distribution of cosmetics with intentionally added PFAS starting January 1, 2032. The ban also covers dental floss, juvenile products, menstrual products, and intimate apparel.
