The Release of Operational Instructions of Guideline for Cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practice

On August 19^th, 2019, Indonesia BADAN POM (BPOM) released the draft Operational Instructions of Guideline for Cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practice ^[1]. The Instruction ^[2] covers all the aspects of cosmetics production process to ensure products meet quality control requirements. The draft Instruction stipulates the detailed requirements for manufacturers' personnel management, factory facilities and equipment, ingredients used, packaging materials, production process, quality control, etc.

The Abolition of No. HK.00.05.4.1745 Cosmetic Regulation

Also on August 19^th, 2019, Indonesia BPOM proposed the abolition of No HK.00.05.4.1745 Cosmetic Regulation released in 2003 ^[3]. Any suggestions can be mailed to [email protected] before August 23^rd, 2019.

The No HK.00.05.4.1745 Cosmetic Regulation covered requirements on cosmetic manufacturers and distributors, cosmetics classification, requirement on cosmetic ingredients, advertisements, etc. BPOM planned to abolish this regulation as the content no longer meets the development and legal requirements of the cosmetics industry in Indonesia.
