To adapt to the recent expansion of functional cosmetics scope, MFDS revised relevant testing methods and related quality control standards, which were implemented on May 30th 2017.

Revisions on testing methods and standard

  1. For new functional cosmetic scope, adding testing methods and standards for ingredients

To add testing methods and standards for ingredients used in antfhistamine, depilatory and acne agent.

Add standard for agent used for testing.

  1. Further refining general rules on deposition masking agents

To refine the definitions of deposition masking agents such as antfhistamine, gelata and pulveres (definitions of moisturizer, water aqua and body lotion).

  1. Adding "salt strength test" to the general testing methods

To supplement PH test for UV filter as an alternative method.
