China State Food and Drug Administration has issued on 1 March a consultative notice to seek views on the testing methods of 13 restricted or banned substances in cosmetics. Five substances (zinc pyrithione, salicylic acid, ketoconazole, climbazole and piroctone olamine) are often used as scuff eliminating agents; other substances including tretinoin, isotretinoin, sorbic acid and etc. are often used in lotions and creams. Public commentary is invited before 15 March 2012.
