South Korea Amends Regulations on Cosmetic Production and Import Reporting

On May 13, 2026, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea released a partial amendment to the Regulation for Notification of Cosmetics Manufacturing & Import Amount and Lists of Ingredients. This amendment aims to improve and supplement certain deficiencies in the current system, particularly regarding the verification of facts for companies that fail to report their production and import records. The revised regulation takes effect on the date of its issuance, May 13, 2026.
