South Korea Proposes Stricter Oversight on Cosmetic Production and Import Reporting

On April 9, 2026, South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced a draft amendment to the Regulation for Notification of Cosmetics Manufacturing & Import Amount and Lists of Ingredients. The proposal aims to strengthen the management and enforcement procedures for cosmetic companies, particularly targeting those who fail to submit their mandatory annual reports. The public is invited to submit feedback on the draft until April 29, 2026.
