China and Australia Sign Free Trade Agreement

After 10 years of negotiation China and Australia signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on June 17th 2015. This marks yet another milestone in China’s foreign trade policy and yet another high-level FTA signed by China with another major economic force in the Asia Pacific region. The FTA will cover over 10 industry sectors including goods, services and investments with the overall aim of achieving a fair and mutually equitable FTA.

China to Update Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients 2014

On June 16 2015, China Food and Drug Administration announced it is to append the Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients in China 2014 (IECIC). A draft list of 147 ingredients was released for public consultation. The period for public consultation will end on June 25.

China and Korea Sign Free Trade Agreement

China-Korean Free Trade Agreement Expected to Be Signed This May
May 14, 2015
After lengthy negotiations China and Korean are expected to sign Free Trade Agreement (FTA) this May. Hopefully, the FTA will be implemented before the end of this year. Within 20 years of its implementation, China will eliminate 91% import tariffs levied on Korean products while Korea will eliminate 92% of import tariffs on Chinese products.

Stay Current: China’s Cosmetic Safety Assessment Regulatory Landscape
Under the current regulatory framework, cosmetics registrants and notifiers can continue to submit a simplified version of the safety assessment report during the registration or notification process until May 1, 2025. Following this deadline, a full version of the safety assessment will be mandated. To facilitate a smooth transition, China is planning to release a set of technical guidelines.
