CFDA Approves 9 Cosmetic Testing Methods

In order to standardize the examination of the technical requirements of prohibited and restricted substances the CFDA’s Expert Committee of Cosmetic Standards reviewed and passed 9 cosmetic testing methods. 

These testing methods are:

1. Testing method of mercapto acetic acid in cosmetics (ion chromatography)
2. Testing method of 1,4-dioxane in cosmetics
3. Testing method of lidocaine and other 6 substances in cosmetics
4. Testing method of mercury in cosmetics (mercury analyzer)
5. Testing method of methanol in cosmetics (gas chromatography)
6. Testing method of desloratadine and other 14 substances in cosmetics
7. Universal testing method of volatile organic compounds in cosmetics
8. Testing method of lead in cosmetics (atomic absorption spectroscopy)
9. Testing method of multielement in cosmetics (ICP-MS)
