South Korea Proposes Amendments for Cosmetic Safety Assessment

On July 8, 2026, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) released the draft partial amendments to the Enforcement Rule of the Cosmetics Act and the Enforcement Decree of the Cosmetics Act. These drafts aim to introduce detailed standards for the newly established cosmetic safety assessment system and refine the management of custom cosmetic businesses. Stakeholders can submit their feedback on both draft amendments until August 18, 2026.
