Taiwan to Regulate Infant Wet Wipes as Cosmetics
Feb 18, 2016
Taiwan FDA released a draft announcing their intension to regulate wet wipes for infants as cosmetics from June 1st 2017. The definition of infants references the definition set by WHO, which means babies under 1 years of age. Once this regulation officially takes effect, all wet wipes made for infants should obey the specific rules in Statute for Control of Cosmetic Hygiene.

Taiwan FDA to Ban Specific Estrogens in Cosmetics

Two months ago, "Taiwan Food and Drug Administration" announced a draft amendment to ban the use of estradiol, estrone and ethinyl estradiol in cosmetics from July 2016. Minister of Health and Welfare Chiang Been-huang said the FDA would evaluate the possibility of moving up the commencement date to March when he was questioned about the schedule for enforcement of that policy.

Stay Current: China’s Cosmetic Safety Assessment Regulatory Landscape
Under the current regulatory framework, cosmetics registrants and notifiers can continue to submit a simplified version of the safety assessment report during the registration or notification process until May 1, 2025. Following this deadline, a full version of the safety assessment will be mandated. To facilitate a smooth transition, China is planning to release a set of technical guidelines.
