On Nov. 14, 2022, Indonesia released the updated Regulation for Supervision on the Entry of Drugs and Food into the Territory of Indonesia 1, as well as Regulation for Supervision on the Entry of Drugs and Food Ingredients into the Territory of Indonesia 2, replacing the previous 2017 versions. The two updated regulations came into effect on Dec. 15, 2022.
The two regulations stipulate the entry requirements for imported drugs (including cosmetics), food, and their ingredients. Enterprises of imported cosmetic products and ingredients are required to obtain an import certificate (SKI Post Border) prior to entering Indonesia. Drugs, food, and ingredients that are not stated in SKI Post Border are prohibited from importing into Indonesia.
Main Amendments
The main amendments related to cosmetics in the two regulations are as follows.
1) Modification of the application documents of SKI Post Border. Newly required documents include the original identity card of the person in charge, and photos of the front and back view of the company's warehouse and office. The following table shows the detailed application documents, among which the amendments are marked in red.
